Interceptive Treatment in Children
Interceptive treatment helps us reduce or eliminate the jaw abnormalities that can cause crowding or create gaps in your child’s teeth. Children are typically screened for orthodontic problems at age seven, the age at which they begin losing their baby teeth. With early intervention, there is a better chance of identifying and treating problems before they become too serious. Early intervention also means that a patient could avoid surgery or extractions.
Even if we determine that orthodontic treatment is not necessary at your child’s first visit, we can evaluate your child’s bite and monitor growth to ensure that proper treatment begins when it is needed.
With our interceptive treatment services, we can detect differences between the upper and lower jaw that may cause alignment problems, and devise a course of action that ensures your child a beautiful smile.
Our clinic can help children with bite problems by creating room for crowded teeth, reserving space for unerupted teeth, and ensuring early intervention with braces, when needed.
